Two Moms. Five Kids. One God Who Sees.
Exit Strategist Spotlight: Lindsay’s Story
In the world of human trafficking, timing is everything. For Exit Strategist Lindsay, July 2025 became a month she’ll never forget—one marked by divine details, urgent decisions, and a powerful reminder that our God sees every survivor.
It started with a mom in Missouri. She had two children and was being trafficked between hotels, regularly moved by her traffickers to avoid detection.
But by Friday, the connection was made. Lindsay confirmed the woman’s location at a hotel and began working quickly to secure her exit—coordinating placement and planning a route to safety in another state. Minutes after they hung up, a text came through:
“My trafficker is here. Can’t talk.”
Rescue America immediately contacted a partner organization, Gideon Force, which specializes in extractions. As it turns out, one of their responders happened to be five hours away from her small Missouri town—an improbable, providential proximity.
But when Gideon Force arrived, the survivor was gone. The room she described didn’t exist. She had vanished.
Her case would have been closed. But something in Lindsay told her not to let go. The file stayed open. They waited. They prayed.
The following week, a second call came in. This time from a mom in Ohio—three boys in tow, hiding at a public library. Her trafficker was her husband. She had left with nothing but her phone and her kids, hiding on the playground outside the library while he circled the area, looking for her.
With the clock ticking, Lindsay and her team coordinated emergency support: clothes, snacks, a car seat, and an Uber to the airport. As her trafficker circled nearby, the Shipt delivery and Uber driver arrived within minutes of each other—just enough time to get her and her sons safely en route.
The timing had to be perfect. And it was.
That night, they placed her in a hotel near a safe home in Oklahoma. Since the arrival happened on a weekend—when Exit Strategists are typically off duty—Lindsay stayed on call, just to ensure the mom and her boys made it safely into care the next morning.
And that’s when her phone lit up again.
It was the mom from Missouri.
“They dropped me off,” the message read.
She was back—this time with the same address, same room number, same hotel as before.
But Lindsay knew from experience that something didn’t add up. She gently asked the mom to step inside and speak with the hotel clerk. At the same time, she notified Gideon Force, still on standby.
The hotel clerk confirmed: the woman was real. She was there—with her two children.
Within ten minutes, local law enforcement arrived to escort the family to safety, while Gideon Force made its way to the scene.
Here’s where the stories collide.
Because Lindsay had just placed the Ohio mom in a nearby safe home the night before, she knew exactly where to turn. Within hours, both moms—now survivors—were reunited with their children in the same safe location.
Two women. Five kids. One God orchestrating every step.
For Lindsay, the story was deeply personal. A survivor of abuse herself, she knew what it felt like to hide, to wait, to wonder if safety would ever come.
As she texted the mom on the playground in Ohio, watching her husband drive laps around the library, she remembered that fear. “Are we going to be in danger?” the mom asked.
Lindsay understood. She had lived that question. But now, on the other side, she got to answer it—not just with empathy, but with action.
“We’re going to fight for you,” she told the mom from Missouri.
“We’re going to make sure your kids stay with you.”
